How To Make Pineapple Glaze for Ham

  • Set the oven to 350 degrees and use foil to line a baking sheet, then grease with cooking spray. Put the flat side of the ham down onto the prepared pan and pour 1/4 cup of water into the bottom of the pan. Cover with foil.
  • Place into the oven for 1 1/2 hours. Add the pineapple, brown sugar, honey, mustard, salt, and cornstarch into a small saucepan over medium-high heat and combine. Allow the mixture to cook to a boil and continuously stir. Once bubbling, allow the mixture to simmer while mixing for another minute.
  • Take the foil off the ham and add the sauce on top. Cover it back up and set it in the oven for 30 minutes or until the inside of the ham reaches 145 degrees. You can baste the ham if desired.
  • Once done, take the ham out and slice. Transfer the glaze from the pan into a gravy boat and serve with the sliced ham. Enjoy!

The Best Ham To Use With Pineapple Glaze

First, make sure you are using a boneless ham for this recipe. Ham has such a variety of flavors and each one would taste amazing. Two of my favorites are Honey Ham and Smoke Ham. However, other types like Maple, Black Forest, Smithfield ham, and more are other great choices. All of these will work and add their very own unique flavor to the recipe.

Storing

  • Storing the Glazed Baked Ham: A cooked ham that is properly stored can last anywhere between 3-4 days to longer. If you place the cooked ham in the fridge in an airtight container, it will last 3-4 days. Placing the ham in the freezer will extend the shelf life even more.
  • Make-Ahead: You can make the glaze up to 3 days ahead of time. We tend to make this ahead of time when preparing for a Holiday dinner.
  • Storing the Pineapple Glaze: Transfer the glaze to a container and keep it in the refrigerator until cool. Add on a lid and keep it in the fridge for up to 5-7 days.
  • Reheating: If you want a warm glaze, add it to a small saucepot and heat over low heat until warm.

  1. This is basically the same ham glaze recipe that I’ve used for years. My daughter will only eat ham if it has my glaze on it. Adding maraschino cherries and some of the juice from the jar is always a great addition. Yum!
